Flamespraying
Flamespraying, somtimes called thermal spraying, enables the application of layers of various low melting metals like Zn or Zn/Al up to a layer thickness of 125 micrometer on substrates.
In a spray-gun the “layer-material” is melted, atomized using compressed air and propelled to the substrate’s surface. The result is a metallic coating on the substrate.
This technique provides high quality dense layers, with a great variety in composition. Also many substrate layer combinations are possible: ceramic on metal, metal on metal, metal on glass and polymer on metal. Typical for this technique is that the substrate, because of the low heat input, is not melted.
CTB Holland BV uses both electric wire flame spraying and autogenous wire flame spraying.
